Privacy Policy
For the Math House Online apps: Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry Essentials, and Algebra Essentials. Effective September 23, 2026.
In short
- Nothing you do in these apps is sent to us, or to anyone else. There is no server.
- The only information stored is on your own device: a student name you type in and that student's lesson progress.
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no trackers, no in-app purchases.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how MathHouseOnline ("MathHouseOnline," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Math House Online apps — Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry Essentials, and Algebra Essentials (each an "App," together the "Apps"). We wrote this policy to describe what the Apps actually do, not a generic template: each App was reviewed line by line for this purpose.
2. Information we collect (and don't)
The Apps do not connect to the internet on their own. There is no login, no account creation with us, no analytics library, no advertising SDK, and no crash-reporting service built into any App. We do not operate a server that the Apps talk to, so there is nothing for us to collect.
| Category | Collected by us? |
|---|---|
| Name, email, or other contact details | No — there is no registration |
| Location data | No |
| Device identifiers or advertising IDs | No |
| Usage analytics or crash reports | No |
| Payment information | No — the Apps have no purchases |
| Photos, contacts, or other device permissions | No — the Apps don't request these |
The one thing the Apps do store is a student profile: a display name you type in (so more than one student can use the same device), an identifier the App generates for that profile, and that profile's lesson progress and scores. None of it is ever sent anywhere — see Section 4.
3. How student profile information is used
Student profile information is used for exactly one purpose: to show that student's own progress back to them (or to a parent/teacher looking over their shoulder) the next time they open the App on the same device. It isn't used for advertising, isn't analyzed, and isn't shared with any third party, because it never leaves the device.
4. Where your information is stored
Student profiles and lesson progress are stored locally on your device, in the App's own private storage area, using the operating system's standard local-storage mechanism. This data is not transmitted to us, to the App Store or Play Store operator, or to any other party. If your device includes its own backup feature (such as iCloud Backup or Android's built-in backup), that backup is managed entirely by Apple or Google under their own policies — we have no access to it.
Uninstalling an App deletes all of its locally stored data from your device.
5. Third-party services
Some lessons include a link to an instructional video hosted on YouTube. Tapping that link opens YouTube in your device's browser or the YouTube app, outside of the App. We don't send YouTube any information about you, and we don't receive anything back from YouTube. Once you're on YouTube, Google's own privacy policy applies to that experience.
The Apps also display PDF reference sheets, but these are bundled inside the App itself and are not fetched from the internet.
Aside from that outbound video link, the Apps use no other third-party services, SDKs, or embedded content.
6. Children's privacy
The Apps are designed for students studying algebra and trigonometry, which commonly includes children under 13. Because the Apps do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information anywhere other than the device itself — and never send anything to us or to any third party — we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in the way that term is typically used in children's privacy laws such as COPPA.
7. Your choices and control
Because everything is stored locally, you're already in full control of it:
- Delete a student's data: uninstall the App. This removes all locally stored student profiles and progress along with it.
- Delete everything: uninstall the App. This removes all locally stored student profiles and progress along with it.
- Nothing to opt out of: since there's no tracking or analytics running in the first place, there are no settings to turn off.
8. Data security
Student profile data is protected by your device's own operating-system security (such as your device passcode or biometric lock), the same as any other app's local data. We recommend keeping your device's lock screen enabled, particularly if more than one student's profile is stored on a shared device.
9. Changes to this policy
If a future version of an App changes what it collects or how it works — for example, by adding an account system, analytics, or advertising — we will update this policy and the "Effective Date" above before that version is released, and we'll describe the change plainly rather than burying it in a rewrite.
